As part of our continued efforts to protect Ivey’s digital information and identities, your password will need to be changed every six months. You will receive an email advising you to change your password as your expiry date approaches.
** Note: If you do not have a laptop provided to you by Ivey IT, or cannot complete these steps while on campus please follow the steps in the article below.

You can change your manually change your password by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and choosing Change a Password
Enter your old password, your new password and confirm new password and Press Enter or Select Arrow
When creating a new password follow the password rules below.
Password Rules
- Password comprised of at least eight characters
- Password characters from three of the following four categories:
- English uppercase A-Z
- English lowercase a-z
- Numbers 0-9
- Special Characters e.g. !,$,#,%
- Cannot be one of your last 5 passwords
Once you have reset your password, please log out of your computer and log in using your new credentials.
Changing Password on Logging in
If you are logging in and your password has expired, you will be forced to set a new password before you are able to log.
The message you will see once you enter your password will be:
The user's password must be changed before signing in.
- Select Ok
- Enter New Password
- Confirm Password
- Hit Enter
- Your password has been changed.
Now log in using your new password.
Upon logging into any Ivey applications such as Learn or Salesforce and wireless, it will prompt you change your password if you have saved it previously.
Updated Your Phone with Your New Password
It is important to update your other devices such as phones or tablets. Your device should prompt you to enter your new password. If you do not update your devices, your account could be locked out by those devices for attempting to connect with your old password.
If your password is not changed before it expires
If you are logging into your Windows computer when the password expires, you will see a few prompts that indicate you will need to change your password.
A notification will pop up indicating you need to enter your current credentials:
Your outlook will also prompt for credentials and will not accept your current password until you change your password.
If you are signing into Wireless when your password has expired, it will prompt your to change you password as well.
Once you have entered your old credentials and it will let you know that your password has expired.
You will need to enter a New password and Confirm Password.
Please log out of your computer and log back in with your new password once it has been changed.
