Revised: January 2016
All incoming MSc students are required to have a laptop computer. Below you will find key information on wireless internet, printing, Apple computers and more. The MSc Program Office will be sending your personal Ivey username and password prior to your arrival.
A new laptop is recommended but most laptops purchased after 2010 will be sufficient. Both Apple and Windows computers are supported, however it is recommended you have an English version of your Operating System installed.
There are applications used during the MSc Program that only run on Windows. Please visit us to have virtual Windows installed on your Mac.
Please note: There are Microsoft Office add-ins used in the MSc Program that only provide full functionality on the Windows version of Office. Although there may be Office add-ins available for Office for Mac 2011 or Office for Mac 2016, their functionality may be limited.
NEW! Western provides Microsoft Office for students for free by going to http://myoffice.uwo.ca. You will need to login using your Western username/password.
- Windows Users: It is recommended you install Microsoft Office 2013. You may download the software for free from http://myoffice.uwo.ca.

A full version of antivirus with auto update enabled should be installed on your laptop.
TO DO BEFORE YOU ARRIVE:
Accessing Wireless Internet
For Windows Users, please download and install the latest wireless profile for Windows before you start!
Visit https://support.ivey.ca and follow the instructions under “uwosecure-v2 Wireless Setup” for your Operating System.
Once you arrive on campus, login to uwosecure-v2 using your Ivey username and password. Be sure to include @ivey.ca.
There are 5 students printers available at the Richard Ivey Building. All 5 printers provide copy, print and scan to e-mail services. Color, hole punching, stapling and duplexing are also available on all printers.
How do I install the student printers?
While on campus wireless, visit https://support.ivey.ca and select “Student Printing Setup Information”. Follow the instructions for your Operating System at the location you would like to print at.
How do I release my print job?
After printing to the New Building printer, go to any release station in the building you are printing in. Tap your WesternONE Card or Login using your Ivey username and password, and click Print to release your jobs to the printer.
For increased privacy, you will only be able to release your print jobs.
What is my printing quota?
Your quota is $100.00. Each page printed reduces your quota $0.05 for Black/White and $0.10 for Colour (1 page double-sided is the same cost). If your quota runs out, contact the Ivey IT Helpdesk in room 2100 or https://support.ivey.ca.
How do I check my quota, environmental impact and use Web Print?
You may visit http://printing.ivey.ca and login using your Ivey username and password.
E-mail and eZone
You may login to eZone, Wireless, Student Printing, DreamSpark and Career Leader using your Ivey username and password, with @ivey.ca. Your Ivey LEAF address is only a forwarding address; there is no mailbox that you are able to set up. Change Your LEAF Forwarding Address: To change your forwarding address, go to http://apps.ivey.ca/ezone and click “My Information” on the top menu.
