Here is a guide to using the AV technology in the Dean's boadroom. First, the main points:
- Three projectors - two for video conferencing, one for presentation
- Easy to use iPad interface to control the lights, blinds
- Wireless microphones and a HD camera for video conferencing
- 52" flat panel TV for Rogers television
- Two computer inputs for laptops - PC1 and PC2 with VGA and HDMI cables
- Wireless presentation capabilities using Crestron Air Media
Using the Boardroom
The boardroom is controlled via the Apple iPad just inside the door on top of the counter. It can be disconnected from the power cable and used on the boardroom table if desired. Pressing the HOME button on the iPad will activate the software interface, pictured below, to control the room. You can press any one of the buttons to turn on the system.
Presentation Mode - Display a powerpoint on the projector
Press Laptop 1 to activate the VGA and HDMI cables at the rear end of the boardroom table. Pressing Laptop 1 will turn on the screen and lower and power on the centre projector.
Press Laptop 1 to activate the VGA and HDMI cables at the near end of the boardroom table (closest to the door). Again, if you Press laptop 2 the screen will come down and the projector will turn on.
Press the Air Media button to activate the Air Media wireless display option. For this option you must have previously installed the Air Media software. Please visit the following link for information on setting up the Air Media software:
Press the DVD button to activate the DVD player in the room. The DVD player is located inside the cabinets at the front of the room. You may insert a DVD and press the play button to start playback.
Video Conference Mode
Press the Conference button to activate video conference mode. In this mode the two outside projectors will turn on and the Magor video conference system will be shown on the screen. Please contact CTS to help you with your video conferences.
If you are in conference mode, press the System Off button (top right) to reset the system so you can go back to Presentation Mode (Laptop 1, 2, or Air Media).
Lighting and Blinds
Press the Lighting and Blinds button to turn on or off the lights or raise or lower the blinds. Please note t here is also a wall switch for the blinds directly behind the door.
Use your finger to slide the volume slider to the left (for lower volume) or to the right (higher volume) to adjust the volume of the ceiling speakers
Table microphones are located in the cabinets and are only used for video conference mode.
Turning off the System
Press the "System Off" button in the top left corner. The projector will cool and after a few minutes the projector lift will rise into the ceiling.
