There are five month end reports requested by our finance team:
- Accounts Receivable: a listing of all internal accounts and their orders for the month
- Item Value List: a list of inventory as of the end of the month, including cost and (retail) price
- Sales Report: a list of all sales for the month
- Sales Tax Collected: a list of all taxes collected for the month
- Tender Summary: a list of all payment types and amounts for the month
This report can be generated in Shopify, with some help from Stitch.
Go to Reports > Finances > Total Sales.
Click on "Month to date" in the top right corner, and select "Last month" from the drop down.
Click Export in the top right, and then choose "Full report" and export.
We will also want to include any internal orders from Stitch, since they are not in the Shopify report. You can get these by:
Log into Stitch.
Go to Reports > Order Reports > Order History. Select "Stitch" from the Channels drop down. Select "Time Period" from the Time Period drop down, and the previous month from the drop down to the right.
Scroll down to Order History - All Orders. This will list all internal orders for the month. (This is very similar to the Accounts Receivable Report, and it is possible you could use the same information for both).
Download this report. We will need to copy and paste this report into the Sales Report from Shopify, and match up the appropriate columns.
Once these two reports are combined, you should have a complete picture of the sales for the month. You can total all of the columns in the bottom row using an Excel formula.
Note on gift card sales
Gift cards sold in Shopify are a part of a separate report, and do not appear on Finances > Total Sales report. You will need to also export this report, and add the gift card sales to your Sales Report.
Note on refunds
Refunds on Internal orders only are not included in the default order report from Stitch. You will have to add these in manually.
